The University of St. Thomas is an ideal setting for home-schooled students with its small class size, variety of degree programs and housing available on campus. Located in Houston’s historic Museum District, UST has a prime location in the city. UST emphasizes its Catholic identity, which is reflected in its faithful theology and philosophy departments and by the way Catholicism permeates the campus. The curriculum at UST provides a classical education, while offering 31 majors in areas such as international studies, business, environmental studies, psychology, communication and pre-professional programs in law, medicine, and dentistry. With an average class size of 18, UST students receive personal attention from faculty. All incoming freshman students are assigned to an academic advisor who will assist them throughout their academic career. UST offers a supportive environment where home-schooled students feel challenged academically and supported by the extended family of faculty, advisors and older students.

College Description

The University of St. Thomas is one of the few larger universities which tries to stay true to its Catholic identity. Founded in 1947, the school now has well over 3,000 students, nearly half of whom are in graduate studies. Students come from all across the U.S. and from over 50 other countries. About 67% of the student body is Catholic. The campus offers three daily Masses most days and daily opportunity for Confession.
